She first met Prince, who went on to become her close friend, when he invited her to his hotel room in San Francisco pretending to be Sly Stone. "I could have sworn it was Sly." Upon arriving: "There’s this little guy with a guitar. I said: ‘Excuse me, where’s Sly?’ and he put his guitar down and said: ‘I’m sorry, that was me.’ I was truly pissed about this. He told me who he was, I said: ‘OK, nice meeting you, but I’m really pissed now, so goodbye’, and I left."
